Mike DeGagné has been active nationally and internationally in the area of addictions and First Nations issues for the past twenty years. He is currently the founding Executive Director of the Aboriginal Healing Foundation, an organization which supports Aboriginal community healing projects that address the legacy of physical and sexual abuse arising from Canada's Aboriginal Residential School system. Mr. DeGagné is a current Board Director of the Child Welfare League of Canada, The Canadian Centre on Substance Abuse and Lakehead University. He is the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Ottawa’s Queensway-Carleton Hospital. Mr. DeGagné holds a Masters degree in Health Administration, and a PhD. focusing on First Nations post-secondary education.
