Dr. Nowazek has been practicing naturopathic medicine since 1997 in Edmonton. He has a Bachelor of Science degree from Brandon University and his naturopathic medical degree from the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine in Toronto. Dr. Nowazek also has extensive training in advanced intra-venous therapies, Advanced Medical Life Support, high dose ascorbate therapy and medical ozone therapy. He maintains a general practice in Edmonton with special interest in family medicine.
Dr. Nowazek is president of the Alberta Association of Naturopathic Practitioners (AANP). He is also a member of the Canadian Naturopathic Association, the Manitoba Naturopathic Association, and the Federation of Regulated Health Professions of Alberta. Dr. Nowazek is also a member of the Multidisciplinary Association for the Study of Cranio-Cervical Pain and a member of the World Health Club advisory board.
As president of the AANP, Dr. Nowazek has overseen and managed all activities toward regulating naturopathic medicine under the Health Professions Act since the year 2000. He has worked extensively with Alberta Health and Wellness in drafting regulations to govern the profession under the HPA and has managed the completion of the competence profile, continuing competence program and competence tracking system for Naturopathic Medicine. Dr. Nowazek has also overseen all work regarding the Alternative Complaint Resolution program for the profession and also managed registration tracking and information systems for the profession.
Dr. Nowazek is married and the proud father of 3 children.
